Chairman Thompson Statement on National Police Week and National Peace Officers’ Memorial Day
(WASHINGTON) – Today, Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS), Chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security, released the following statement on National Police Week and National Peace Officers’ Memorial Day:
"As National Police Week comes to a close and on National Peace Officers’ Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women around the country who serve to ensure the safety and security of our homeland, especially during these trying times. We also take the time to remember all of those who have lost their lives in the line of duty, their sacrifices will never be forgotten. To all of America’s police officers, thank you for your service on the front lines. We will continue to fight to ensure you have the resources you need to help keep the country safe."
